Carlos Perez

Mr. Carlos Perez has actively participated in the software industry for over 25 years and has been involved with all aspects of the software development life-cycle: requirements analysis, software architecture design, detailed design, coding, integration, and testing. Mr. Perez's background includes client/server development, n-tier development, object-oriented design and programming, real-time systems design, performance analysis, relational database development and the application of modern software engineering practices to deliver quality software systems.

Mr. Perez started his career developing embedded avionics software for the NASA Space Station and Space Shuttle spaceflight programs. In 1995, Mr. Perez switched to “small systems development” which included Unix minicomputer and PC microcomputer development in Python, PHP, Java, C++, and C#. Mr. Perez’ broad industry experience includes developing software for the civil, military, financial, medical, insurance, intellectual property and commercial sectors. Mr. Perez has held government security clearances.

Mr. Perez has worked for several small start-up companies and commercial organizations such as IBM, Booz Allen Hamilton, Front Range Solutions, TAEUS International, and Pax8. He has also served as an expert witness on a patent infringement case and continues to support patent licensing programs for technology companies as a subject matter expert.

Mr. Perez has a BA degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Texas - Austin and a MS business degree from the University of Houston - Clear Lake.

His favorite toy is a high-powered Ubuntu Linux system running a number of operating systems under virtualization. His goal is to one day run a sub-eight minute mile.
